2024 Girls Weekend in NYC During Christmas Itinerary

·

Looking for the perfect NYC Christmas Itinerary? Hop aboard your very own Polar Express and take the Amtrak to Moynihan Train Hall in the heart of Manhattan. It’s a scenic, stress-free way to kick off the holiday fun! I recommend bringing snacks—or better yet, a festive charcuterie board to share with your girlfriends on the ride. From holiday markets to iconic landmarks and cozy nights in, this itinerary has everything you need for an unforgettable Christmas getaway.

Thursday Night: Exploring and Unwinding

  • Walk Around the City: Grab a coffee from Fellini Coffee and sightsee. Don’t miss the beautiful Washington Square Arch at Washington Square Park.
  • Quick Bite for Lunch: Head to Grandma’s Pizza for a classic NYC slice.
  • Dinner: We made reservations for Little Ruby Cafe for delicious pasta and cocktails. We always see this spot when we are in the city and decided to give it a try–definietly worth it! The food was great, but the atmosphere was even better. I opted for another coffee.

Friday: Holiday Magic and Iconic Sights

  • Stroll Along Fifth Avenue: Admire the festive window displays at Saks Fifth Avenue and take a restroom break inside one of the big stores.
  • St. Patrick’s Cathedral: Stop by the stunning St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
  • Louis Vuitton Building and The Plaza: Walk past the new Louis Vuitton flagship and visit the historic Plaza Hotel.
  • Relaxing Night In: Pick up wine at a local shop and grab a slice from Made in New York Pizza. Enjoy a cozy night watching While You Were Sleeping before getting ready for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes.
  • Dinner Option: If you want to dine out, try Carmine’s in Times Square.
  • Evening Glam: Dress up in festive attire (think dresses or skirts with boots). After the show, snap photos outside the beautifully decorated Radio City Music Hall and stroll through Times Square to take in the lights.

Saturday: Central Park and Friendship Memories

  • Rockefeller Center: See the iconic Rockefeller Christmas Tree and people ice skating below!
  • Friendship Bracelets: Head back to Bryant Park Winter Village to check out the market at night! We went back to get permanent friendship bracelets as a memorable keepsake. But there’s so much to check out! Grab a hot chocolate or get a glass of wine before heading to dinner.
  • Dinner at St. Tropez: Dine at St. Tropez in the West Village. Must-try dishes: truffle mac, meatballs, and their mouthwatering burger. Don’t forget dessert!
  • Night Out:
    • Start the night at Fiddlesticks for casual drinks and a lively vibe.
    • Head over to Common Ground, a trendy spot for cocktails and great music.
    • End at AWOL Bar for karaoke fun (just check their closing time to plan accordingly!).

Sunday: Farewell Brunch and Treats

  • Bagels at Sophia’s Bagels: A perfect last NYC breakfast.
  • Coffee and Goodies: Split the group between Café Kitsuné for coffee and Magnolia Bakery for train-ride treats.
