Lemon Olive Oil Elixir π

I have been loving making this simple, healthy, lemon olive oil elixir to start my mornings lately. My mom got me onto it. Her and I both love starting our morning with a shot of this delicious elixir. It feels so good to start your day off with something that I know is so nourishing.
This recipe makes a batch that lasts me about a week. I store it in the fridge in a glass mason jar and take a little more than a shot’s worth every morning
Every ingredient serves a purpose–whole lemons, ginger, olive oil, honey–all blended together and strained to make a yummy, nourishing cocktail. It’s refreshing and easy to sip but also supportive of your digestion, liver, skin, and immune system.
Here are some benefits for each ingredient of this lemon olive oil elixir β¨π

π Lemon (whole, peel on)
Lemon is one of the best things to have first thing in the morning. It helps alkalize the body, supports digestion, and flushes out toxins. But when you use the whole lemonβpeel and allβyouβre getting even more benefits:
- The peel contains powerful antioxidants like d-limonene, which supports liver detox and may have anti-inflammatory properties
- Itβs rich in vitamin C for glowing skin and immune support
- Lemon also acts as a gentle diuretic to keep you feeling light and refreshed
Tip: Use organic lemons when possible since youβre blending the peel, and give them a good scrub before using.
π« Olive Oil
This might sound surprising in a drink, but high-quality olive oil is an amazing source of healthy fats that support your liver, digestion, and skin. It also helps your body absorb fat-soluble vitamins (like the vitamin C from lemon).
- Choose a cold-pressed, extra virgin olive oil
- Look for oils that are imported from Italy, Spain, or Greece, and ideally packaged in a dark glass bottle to preserve quality
π― Raw Honey
Raw honey isnβt just for sweetnessβitβs full of enzymes, minerals, and antioxidants.
- It soothes the digestive system
- Has antimicrobial properties
- Gives you a natural energy lift without spiking blood sugar too much
Try to use local or organic raw honey if you canβjust enough to balance the lemon and ginger.
π± Ginger (peel on)
Ginger brings a gentle heat that warms the system and kickstarts digestion. It also:
- Reduces inflammation
- Supports immune health
- Helps with nausea or bloat
Blending it with the peel keeps the nutrients intactβjust give it a quick rinse first.
If you prefer to peel you ginger, you can totally do that!
π§ Spring Water
I try to opt for spring water if available since it comes straight from the earth and often contains trace minerals that support hydration and overall health versus purified or distilled. These can be stripped of minerals during processing.
If spring water isnβt available, any water will do, but if you can try to aim for the cleanest source you can find.
Coconut water would be a great substitute or alternative to switch things up as it is very naturally hydrating and I bet the subtle sweetness would be delicious in this drink.

Why I Love It
- Lemon is naturally detoxifying and gives a good vitamin C boost
- Olive oil is full of healthy fats that support digestion and skin health
- Raw honey adds antioxidants and makes it all go down smoothly
- Ginger adds a little zing and supports the immune system
Itβs clean, simple, and made with ingredients you probably already have at home.
