13 Things to Do in Seattle

Seattle, the Emerald City, has so much to offer—from iconic landmarks to rich history and vibrant culture. Known for its coffee culture, rainy weather, and music scene, this Pacific Northwest gem is a city you’ll want to visit at least once. Here’s my list of 13 things to do in Seattle that will help you explore its charm and character.

What Seattle Is Known For

Seattle is famously known for its rain—yes, it rains a lot, but that’s what keeps the city so lush and green! This vibrant greenery earned Seattle the nickname “The Emerald City.” It’s also known as the birthplace of grunge music, with legendary bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden originating here. If you’re a fan of movies and TV, you might recognize Seattle as the setting for Grey’s Anatomy and one of my all time favorite movies, Sleepless in Seattle. Oh my gosh, and iCarly 😂! The Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and its rainy big-city vibe with lots of hustle and bustle, culture, and history—including the first-ever Starbucks—are just some of the things that make the city stand out.
