Chocolate Acorns – Easy Fall and Thanksgiving Treat

Chocolate-dipped cookies with chocolate chips, ideal for sweet cravings and party favors.

These chocolate acorns are the easiest little fall treat to make, and they always disappear fast. Theyโ€™re fun for kids, perfect for Thanksgiving, and make an adorable poppable snack to leave out on your counter for guests. With just a handful of ingredients, you can create a whole batch in minutes.

What You’ll Need To Make

  • Mini Nutter Butter cookies
  • Hersheyโ€™s Kisses
  • Mini chocolate chips, essential for forming the chocolate acorn stem
  • Chocolate candy melts

How to Make Chocolate Acorns

  1. Melt chocolate candy melts until smooth.
  2. Dip the flat side of a Hersheyโ€™s Kiss into the melted chocolate and attach it to a mini Nutter Butter. This forms the foundation of your homemade chocolate acorns.
  3. Add a small dot of chocolate on top of the cookie and press on a mini chocolate chip to create the stem.
  4. Let the acorns set until the chocolate hardens.

These little treats look festive, taste delicious, and make any fall gathering feel extra fun.

Substitutions & Tips

  • Peanut-free option: Swap mini Nutter Butters for Nilla Wafers if there are peanut allergies.
  • Using chocolate chips as โ€œglueโ€: Mix in a bit of coconut oil before melting the chips so the chocolate sets properly.
  • Choose your chocolate: Dark, milk, or white chocolate all work well. Milk chocolate is my favorite for this!

All in all

Chocolate acorns bring a playful, seasonal touch to any fall table. Theyโ€™re easy to make, kid-approved, and guaranteed to be a hit at Thanksgiving or any cozy autumn gathering. Making chocolate acorns couldn’t be simpler!
